Tournament Update 10/26/25
Dear Teachers,
Once again our apologies for the delayed results this past week. CS4IL was invited to several CS conferences featuring educators from across the country, and we showed them the hard work your teams were doing in this tournament. Great job everyone!
Now onto the updates:
The tournament leaderboard has been updated reflecting the October challenge. This was the Kattis problem set plus the Processing challenge. You will see them broken down in the Leaderboard update.
Appeals will be accepted until the end of the next round (November 9th)
The next round will begin starting tomorrow (Monday October 27) and run until November 15th. It will consist of:
Kattis challenge (3 points)
IL AI challenge (1-3 points)
Calico online tournament (1-3 points)
For Kattis, you must successfully complete all challenges to earn 3 points.
One favor we’d like to ask of all participating teams: as soon as possible into the start of this round, within Kattis, please have your team submit an incorrect attempt to any of the challenges. This will not penalize you, but it will help us be able to quickly identify which teams by name are participating in this event for the tournament. Thank you for your help with this!
We realize that the IL AI Challenge and the Calico online tournament may involve additional prep time on the part of teams and coaches. You should carefully consider if they warrant the time and effort. Simply entering the AI and Calico challenge will net your team 1 point each. The top 3 finishers in those respective events will receive bonus points in the ICST tournament.
We also encourage all teams that haven’t already done so to please create and provide us access to a team Padlet. (Let us know if you need assistance in creating a team Padlet.) Doing this will help your team in future rounds document your progress, submit challenges, and present your work to the tournament judges.. all in one single easy-to-find location. Housing all of this in a single location will also be helpful to us as we complete each event’s scoring and update the tournament leaderboard.
Again we encourage you to submit any feedback to tournament organizers via this form. We read all the submissions and it will help guide us as to the future direction of the tournament.
