This update also contains the 11/12/25 update pasted below.
Congratulations to the following teams who solved all 5 Kattis problems in this round:
The problem named "Cat Coat Colors" was a hard one that stumped a number of other teams that solved 4 out of 5 problems. So close!
We also want to give a shout out to the coderNCP2 team for an exemplary Processing submission!
There will not be any new Kattis problems in this round. As you can see, we are shifting to emulate real-world problems, where teams need to debug, re-factor, or add new features to existing code.
Here is the last challenge that will take us through winter break. Teams will have until January 2nd to complete the following.
December ICST Challenges - this is a Padlet site which will contain a number of projects you can complete. Limit 1 project per team. 5 points for each completed project.
Code Review - a Padlet site where you can post a previous Kattis coding problem which stumped you. Post the actual code. Limit 1 per team. 5 points each. An example from "Cat Code Colors" has been posted as an example.
Note: teams which have successfully solved all of the Kattis challenges may not post. Instead, any team can submit a constructive comment providing feedback on another team’s code to help troubleshoot. 1 point per helpful comment. Maximum of 5 commenting points per team.
We strongly encourage teams to use their own Padlets for the above activities. If that isn't possible, you can use a Google doc or other publicly accessible link. Showing your work for others is a flex!
Happy Holidays and see you in 2026!
